The Third Annual Miss Juneteenth Scholarship Pageant will occur on Sunday evening, June 18, 2023, at the Ritz Theatre and LaVilla Museum.

The Miss Juneteenth Scholarship Pageant is not to be mistaken for a beauty pageant; to the contrary, it is a cultural pageant steeped in the African American experience. The pageant promotes sisterhood, unity, self-confidence, and social awareness. Typically, it is the Crown Jewel of Juneteenth commemorative activities.

The 2022 pageant contestants comprised a fantastic group of talented young ladies attending area high schools. The contestants were Miss Iahnna McNealy, Miss Ceyona Stewart, Miss Cyann Henderson, Miss Ta'Leah Floyd, and Miss Micah Webster-Bass.

The contestants gave new meaning to the pageant's theme of "An Evening of Black Excellence" as they effortlessly performed their routines to the delight of a very excited audience.

The 2022-23 Miss Juneteenth Scholarship Pageant winner, Miss Micah Webster-Bass, was crowned by her predecessor, Miss Kimberly Green, the 2021-22 Miss Juneteenth.

Miss Webster-Bass is the daughter of the Honorable Judge Lester Bass and Mrs. Selena Webster-Bass. The First Runner-up was Miss Cyann Henderson, and the Second Runner-up was Miss Ceyona Stewart.

Miss Webster-Bass competed in a national Miss Juneteenth Scholarship Pageant in Galveston, Texas, in October 2022 and was the 1st Runnerup in a field of fourteen (14) contestants.
